TV Volume: A Family Fight?

TV VOLUME can turn into a family fight.  It is the most common household argument at home. That fight has recently escalated because we’re spending more time with family.

Tensions and volume run high when family members can’t hear well.  The whole family is affected.  Lots of arguments flare over TV volume, what was said and “you’re not paying attention”.

Being able to communicate takes time and patience – especially with loved ones.  Being together more, the TV often highlights a problem that existed for a while.

Does everyone vacate the room whenever you or a loved one watch TV?  Play detective.  Does it happen every time they turn the TV on?  Or only with distractions?  Turn down the distractions.  Does that help?  Turn the volume down.  Turn the TV captions on.  See if they “hear” more easily now.

Hearing aids do amazing things now and can make life easier for the WHOLE family.  They can stream TV, audio books, video chats and phone calls to help get back to easier communication and family life.  It can be easy to hear again!

If you find yourself spending time with someone who doesn’t wear their hearing aids – give us a call to find out why.  Sometimes, it can be as simple as cleaning or maintenance to get them back on board and hearing.  No more arguments!
